LSU Justifies Lofty Ranking E-mail
Written by Allen Kenney

Prior to this weekend, Homerism had joined the legions of college football blatherers questioning the LSU's lofty perch in the rankings. I figured the trip to Georgia would be the game in which the Tigers' chickens came home to roost.

And what did the Tigers do? Well, what they always seem to do since Les Miles made his way to Baton Rouge, of course: pull out yet another big SEC win in improbable fashion.

Whether you believe Miles is a moron or mad genius, you can't deny the results. His team is 5-0 heading into Saturday's night game versus Florida at Death Valley, and the Tigers look like a legitimate threat to knock off the defending national champs. Who knows how they do it, but them's the facts?

Regarding Kansas, I've added the Jayhawks begrudgingly. The best thing that can be said KU is that they've beaten a bunch of teams that they should have, which is actually more of a compliment than it sounds like this season.

Blatant Homerism Power Poll: Week Five

1. Alabama
2. LSU
3. Iowa
4. Cincinnati
5. Boise State
6. TCU
7. Auburn
8. Florida
9. Texas
10. Kansas

Darrell,

I'm with you. A week off to prepare is bad news for Lesticles.
